This lecture/workshop provides practical experience in the elements of producing and scriptwriting, which are vital to the role of the producer. Students prepare storylines and write treatment/outlines and short scenarios. We explore fundamental writing techniques, emphasizing dramatic and narrative forms. Each phase of the production process--pre-production, production, and post-production--is examined, with a concentration on pre-production, as well as the overall role and responsibilities of the producer.
