Filmmaking II: Color and Sync Sound

Continuing Education: Film, Video and Broadcasting

 

This is the capstone course of the evening Certificate in Filmmaking program in which students combine the technical experience and aesthetic knowledge garnered from other courses to produce an eight minute, festival length, 16mm, live-action dramatic film. Through lectures and demonstrations, students are guided through script development, pre-production, casting, and techniques for directing a narrative film with dialogue. Then students advance to synchronization, editing, and finalization of the picture and sound using Final Cut Pro. If you have a script, it may be submitted one week prior to the first class session to gain a head start. Film match back procedures be demonstrated in class.

 

Prerequisites:
Prerequisites: Film Production I: B/W-MOS/X34.9510, Cinematography I/X34.9087, and Production Sound for Film/X34.9071, or equivalent experience.

Tuition includes equipment, allotted 16 mm color negative raw stock, laboratory processing, and film-to-tape transfers.
