Maya, the computer animation industry's leading software, has the capacity to create diverse imagery for animated films, such as WALL-E and Ratatouille, as well as for creating characters for live action films, such as Iron Man. With hands-on practice, students explore the many features offered in Maya and acquire a broad understanding of the 3D tools essential for film, television, and design projects. Through a series of short exercises focusing on Maya's core fundamentals, such as modeling, lighting, texturing, animation, and rendering, acquire a working knowledge of the industry standard in 3D software.
Prerequisites:
Recommended: fundamental skills in drawing; plus 2D Design Principles/X36.9220 and Conceptualization/X36.9221, or equivalent knowledge.
