SPRING 2010
Continuing Education:
Design and Digital Arts
An understanding of the Mac operating system is essential for aspiring graphic designers. It is the system of choice for those pursuing career paths in the creative professions. Equally, important is an understanding of RGB and CMYK color modes. This course reviews the unique aspects of the Mac OS, including the dock, navigating folder windows, and connecting to a server. Students also gain a basic understanding of color modes, including RGB for interactive or broadcast projects and CMYK and flat colors for print projects. This course does not cover color harmony. Rather, learn how the physics of light and pigment are applied in raster and vector environments.
