This online course reviews legal issues, New York State and federal laws and regulations, and the importance of ethics in fundraising. Since New York State laws are among the strictest in the United States in this area, they can serve as a model for nonprofits in other states. The course also examines the responsibility of boards of trustees in upholding and adhering to prescribed ethical standards in fundraising, including criteria for accepting or rejecting contributions.
