A small business that turns a profit right away is the dream of anyone who has ever left the security of a steady job to strike out on his or her own. In this introductory course, entrepreneurs get an overview of key issues for planning a start-up business--whether it's Web-based or traditional, sales- or service-oriented. Topics cover general business operations, including staffing, purchasing, and insurance; legal forms of ownership; capital requirements; financing sources; and marketing techniques.
