Practice writing, rewriting, and editing various forms of public relations communications including the components of a press kit, press conferences, speeches, bylined articles, letters to the editor, and pitch letters. Special writing projects are assigned based on the makeup of the workshop. A public relations writing expert provides one-on-one writing consultation and feedback for portfolio development that proves invaluable in a job search. This program is designed for participants with a general public relations knowledge base. Beginners and experienced writers are welcome. Participants must have a solid command of English language and grammar.
Areas Covered: Public relations strategy, effective public relations writing, writing a public relations plan, writing press kits, exploration of other public relations writing material.
Who Should Attend: This program welcomes career changers; graduate students; junior public relations practitioners within an agency, nonprofit organization, or corporation; freelancers; consultants; and small business owners.
Faculty: Our faculty are outstanding professionals from the Public Relations Certificate program at NYU-SCPS and from New York's corporate, press, agency, and consultant worlds. They represent a variety of clients in business and nonprofit organizations.
