This course provides in-depth exposure to the diverse range of qualitative research conducted on- and offline--including live group text chat and instant messaging; bulletin boards and blogs; online communities and virtual worlds like Second Life; in-person research; and combinations of on- and offline approaches. Case studies show how qualitative methods work; the factors to consider when choosing a method to meet your objectives; and the steps for setting goals, planning, and evaluating learning. Obtain hands-on experience in real-world topics generated by class discussion.
