The law plays a powerful role in the entertainment business. Whether in music, film, broadcast, cable television, or print industries, understanding the key legal issues is essential to success. This course covers intellectual property law; the acquisition, maintenance, exploitation, and enforcement of such properties; deals involving the management and marketing of intellectual property--including contracts, copyright and trademark licenses, relevant provisions--and their particular significance. Both domestic and international legal trends are discussed.
