Gain an overview of issues relevant to international business negotiations and discuss the most effective practices and methods of conducting them. Readings include general legal, political, logistical, business, finance, risk assessment, employment, and ethical sources, depending on which positions need to be defined and which negotiations may be used to resolve differences. Topics include balancing the objectives of whom you represent with the needs and interests of the negotiating party and heightening sensitivity to personal, behavioral, and cultural differences. Students are graded upon their participation in mock negotiations and short essay exams. Mock negotiations are videotaped and discussed.
