Tailored for beginning network security professionals, this course teaches the fundamental concepts of information security and security architecture. Become familiar with the TCP/IP protocol and the tools used to read and interpret its traffic. Study common cryptographic techniques, such as symmetric and asymmetric cryptography and hashing algorithms, and use hacking case studies to unravel methods of attack and discover defensive security countermeasures. Learn how to identify, update, and implement a security policy in your organization.

Prerequisite: Internetworking Fundamentals/X52.9326 or equivalent knowledge.
