The Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 was designed to guarantee the integrity of an organization's financial statements. IT auditors are responsible for testing the integrity of the underlying financial systems. This course covers SOX 302, 404, and 409; PCAOB 404; COSO internal audit standards; techniques and strategies for continuous auditing for SOX; and methods for addressing outsourced operations. Students review key requirements of SOX and PCAOB standards as they apply to internal control and security assessments, and learn to identify high-risk elements of IT control frameworks and the controls necessary for compliance.
Prerequisites:
Prerequisite: Advanced IT Auditing/X52.9581 or equivalent experience.
