Gain a valuable introduction to how the Microsoft .NET framework works with XML data. Specifically, students have the opportunity to program in VB.NET/C# by creating and manipulating XML data. XML is a method for putting structured data in a text file so that it is accessible by anything from a spreadsheet to a database. This class takes a hands-on approach by combining lab and lecture time in developing applications in XML and .NET technology for the Web. Topics include working with XML data in .NET, using the new XMLReader, and XMLWriter. Build XML Web Services in .NET. Other topics covered include SQL and Relational Database Model.
Prerequisites:
Prerequisite: Familiarity with either VB.NET or ASP.NET.
