This course provides a comprehensive overview of Apache, the most widely used Web server on the Internet. Knowledge of Apache is essential for any Web developer or systems administrator. Learn how to manage the httpd.conf configuration file, set up virtual hosts for multiple websites, use the .htaccess file, URL Mapping, directory indexing, performance tuning, handlers, filters, running scripts, proxy servers and firewalls, and deliver dynamic content with Apache. Topics include introduction to Apache; history of Apache; installation and configuration; security; delivering dynamic Web content with Apache; serving multiple sites with virtual hosts, redirection, and indexing; proxy servers and firewalls; monitoring the Apache Web server; and improving performance.
