Python is an increasingly popular interpreted programming language used in a variety of domains. Emphasizing programmer productivity and code readability, Python is used successfully in thousands of real-world business applications around the world at companies such as Google, YouTube, NASA, and Industrial Light and Magic. Python offers strong support for integration with other languages and tools, comes with extensive standard libraries, and can be learned quickly. This course introduces students to the elements of Python--including types, operators, statements, classes, functions, modules, and exceptions--and shows how to solve common programming tasks and write complete standalone applications.
Prerequisites:
Prior programming experience (e.g.: VB, Perl, C, C++) and a strong knowledge of HTML.
Co-requisites:
Introduction to Windows Administration/X52.9523 or Regular Expressions/X52.9960.
