Learn the fundamentals of financial planning (a prerequisite for the other courses in the financial planning program). Topics include financial planning functions, time value of money, economic and legal environments, financial analysis, and ethical and professional considerations. Students get practical experience utilizing data-gathering forms, constructing personal financial statements, budgeting, and dealing with regulatory requirements. Two classes are devoted to the use of the financial calculator.
4.0 CEU (40 50-minute hours)
Students may also take financial calculator workshops prior to or concurrent with this course.
