This course is a survey of federal income tax planning techniques. The purpose is to equip students with a solid foundation in the principles of, and planning with respect to, the federal income taxation of individuals. In addition to substantive knowledge, students become familiar with tax research and associated analytical techniques. Reporting skills applicable to IRS Form 1040 are also covered.
