This course reviews the income tax treatment of hedge funds, their investors, and their managers. Major topics include pass-through taxation of hedge funds and their investors, special tax concerns of U.S. tax-exempt and non-U.S. investors, recurring tax issues raised by particular investment strategies, taxation of investment managers, and recent and pending legislative initiatives affecting the taxation of hedge funds.

 

Prerequisites:
Students must have familiarity with introductory tax concepts.
