This course is designed for attorneys and other professionals who have little or no formal training in accounting or auditing, yet need to be able to read and understand financial statements. The emphasis is on public companies' reporting obligations, the oversight roles of regulators and independent auditors, and analytical tools commonly applied in evaluating financial results. Textbook study is supplemented with in-depth review of actual financial reports.
