Focus on the basics, including generally accepted accounting principles and generally accepted auditing standards. The course covers relationships among the Financial Accounting Standards Board, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Securities and Exchange Commission, and the Internal Revenue Service; independent accountants' roles in audit and nonaudit engagements; financial statement ratios; and more.
