Managing the Internal Audit Function

This course is for individuals who want to gain an understanding of the challenges in managing an internal audit department. Students examine the IIA Professional Practices Framework requirements and learn about developing an internal audit charter, serving the Audit Committee, creating an annual audit plan, collaborating with external auditors, and preparing for a quality assurance review. Other topics include audit administration (including benchmarking performance), the strategies for performing consulting assignments, and current issues in internal auditing.

 

Prerequisites:
Internal Auditing/X58.8201, or Principles of Auditing and Assurance Services/X58.8202.
