Internal control is the bedrock that financial statements rest upon, and its absence or override has caused storied institutions to collapse--in some cases almost overnight. Learn the standards that proper internal control must meet and survey the issues at the forefront of discussion in the financial world. Students learn how to implement financial and operational controls to meet COSO standards, PCAOB Auditing Standard No. 5 (audits of internal control), COBIT (control objectives for Information Technology), and to manage control risks and prevent failures.
