Examine basic legal concepts relevant to the protection of works of authorship under copyright law. Basic questions with regard to subject matter, substantive requirements, and procedures for protection are discussed. Other topics include ownership, transfers, duration, renewal, and termination of transfers. Additional emphasis is on infringement actions, remedies, preemption and related bodies of law, as well as copyright protection regarding digital technologies.
