This course addresses governance issues applicable to entities and arrangements that involve the pooling of investment funds from private or governmental sources. Topics include investor rights and evolving investor-manager relationship norms, the varieties and unique characteristics of funds, the influence of funds on world commodity and stock markets, the reactions of governments and regulators to the emergence and rapid growth of such funds, and the unique dynamics of governments acting as private investors.
