One of the most exciting, successful, and rewarding areas in publishing is the fascinating world of children's books. For those who enter from any perspective--as writer, editor, designer, or on the marketing and sales side--children's book publishing offers challenge and professional opportunity. In this introductory course gain practical, specific information about children's book publishing from acquisition to distribution. We cover all aspects of editorial, design, production, sales, marketing, and subsidiary rights responsibilities. Assignments include readings and simulation of editorial tasks.
