In this practical training course, develop the editing skills you need in the world of book publishing. The course covers the varying editing requirements for trade, reference, and other types of books, as well as those of online editing. Learn about standard proofreader's and copy editor's marks, manuscript development, style sheets, house styles, and common word usage problems. Topics also include the use of appropriate reference works and the interrelationship of copy editor, editor, and production editor. This course includes extensive assignments, and students receive constructive feedback on their work.
Students must have fluency in English and proficiency in grammar.
