This advanced editing course, which covers both conceptual and line editing, is designed to help you take your editing skills to the next level. Learn how to develop and sustain an author relationship; how to nurture and guide a writer through the editing process; how to keep a project on budget and on schedule; as well as the art of uncovering and communicating the author's voice and point of view and improving a manuscript's structure, narrative, and flow. Participants work with both fiction and nonfiction manuscripts in this hands-on workshop.
Students must have knowledge of the editorial role in book publishing.
