This class encourages you to try your hand at the most common freelance activities in book publishing, including copyediting, proofreading, and fact checking; indexing; picture research, and permissions; and writing marketing and advertising copy for print and online promotions. Class assignments give you the opportunity to identify your strengths and interests and prepare you to move on to more specialized courses. Whether you intend to build a full-time freelance career or want to supplement your income, this course provides invaluable advice.
Students must have fluency in English and prior knowledge of the editorial role in magazine publishing.
