Publishing
User-generated content has transformed the way publishers do business. In both the book and magazine industries, social networking sites, such as Twitter, Facebook, and MySpace, have become vital ways to market products, reach a wide and engaged audience, and get important feedback. In addition, reader content, commentary, and connectivity are now major parts of every publishing site. In this course, students examine the increasing influence of social media and how both freelancers and those working inside publishing companies can best use it to promote their products, drive sales, and understand the buying and consuming patterns of their audience.
