Learn step-by-step how a magazine works as a complete business enterprise. Beginning with the importance of a focused and unique editorial concept or product, explore the integral dialogue between the editorial, advertising, and circulation departments. Learn the basics of circulation, production, advertising, marketing, financial management, page layout, and design. Review trade and niche publications, and examine trends and core issues facing publications, as well as new media and custom publishing entities. Case studies and guest speakers from major magazine publishing companies provide a behind-the-scenes take on the internal workings of the magazine business.
