This course covers the intricacies of editing different types of stories for magazine categories, with an emphasis on hands-on editing. Classroom work focuses on the basics of conceptualizing, assigning, shaping, and developing a manuscript; refining voice, point of view, and visuals; imagining online components; and more. Hone your magazine editing skills and develop valuable insights into the editing process and working with writers. This course is beneficial for magazine editors who want to improve their skills, as well as writers who seek tools to improve their own manuscripts.
Students must have prior knowledge of the editorial role in magazine publishing.
