From budgeting for a cover shoot to creating a P&L for a Web extension, this course helps students learn about the business of magazines. Examine the financials of almost every aspect of a magazine, including consumer marketing, advertising, production, printing, and online units. Students learn how to create practical editorial page budgets, plan for special interest publications and other brand extensions, and explore the fundamentals of developing a financially robust brand in these challenging economic times.
