Acquire an understanding of real estate capital markets through securitization of debt and equity. Starting with a review of the role of a traditional real estate finance market (primary market), the course advances to examine economic principles of the secondary market (securitization/CMBS) and broader capital markets, including REITs. Topics include the bond market and the role of investment houses, conduits, servicers, rating agencies, and underwriters.
Prerequisites:
Prerequisite: Introduction to Real Estate Finance/X62.9100 or equivalent experience.
