This course provides a practical step-by-step approach to HVAC, electrical, and plumbing/piping estimating for commercial, industrial, and residential apartment construction. Topics include estimating preparation; systems breakdown; material take-off; piping and duct work take-off; HVAC equipment costs; conduit and wiring, wiring devices, lighting fixtures, distribution panels, and switchgear; cable systems; site lighting; plumbing hook-up; fire-stand pipe systems; labor and productivity/man-hours; and budget estimating.
Students must have knowledge of MEP systems and ability to interpret construction drawings and plans.
