Architecture, Engineering, and Construction
Examine the special and broader responsibilities of the owner's construction project manager (distinct from those of the architect or construction firm) especially as geared to institutional and corporate work. Project phases include anticipating, planning, funding, programming, designing, bidding, and awarding; construction; and closeout and post-occupancy follow-up. Course topics include new construction; work letters and renovations; types of contracts; budgeting; estimating; bidding; cost controls and tracking; value engineering; scheduling; site logistics; and project completion, including substantial completion, beneficial occupancy, Certificate of Occupancy, and turnover.
