Having mastered the underlying technical basics, this class emphasizes the use of effects to support the main message with artistic decisions and design strategies. Using After Effects, the class explores the complexity of life video combined with 2-D animation using expressions, effects, parenting, 3-D controls, tracking, lighting, andaudio. Students learn to analyze effects sequences and decipher ways to recreate them in After Effects. Projects are developed step-by-step, mirroring a real-life client/artist relationships with intended result culminating in a professional piece for a demo reel.

Prerequisite: Introduction to Motion Design
