This introductory course focuses on aesthetic and design topics and is the complement to the more technical Media Convergence and Production class. Student are introduced to general design, typographic and layout issues specific to screen-based design, in particular broadcast design. Case studies of station ID design, titles, promos, and commercials are accompanied by design exercises. As a foundation this course includes thorough exposure to Photoshop, Illustrator, and still image programs used in conjunction with all 2-D and 3-D animation programs. Student acquire knowledge of typefaces, composition, and contemporary motion design.
Prerequisites:
Prerequisite: Multimedia Graphic Design or basic Adobe Photoshop knowledge
