While the computer's ability to construct complex models or calculate intricate motion paths is undisputed, it cannot replace traditional drawing and observation skills. While some drawing accompanies you throughout your studies, this class gives you a dense introduction to basic skills. We move from perspective, light, and shadow to figurativemotion sketches, character development and storyboarding. The final project is a short animation, hand-drawn or digital, or a combination thereof. Class time is divided into critique, discussion, lecture, and drawing.
