Comparative Eastern Religions

A comparative study of the major Asian religious and philosophical traditions, under the headings of Hinduism, Buddhism, Confucianism, and Taoism. Emphasis is placed on primary sources in translation, on the context in which the religion/philosophy arose, and on the interrelationship and cross-influences among the various perspectives. Concepts of the Absolute, views of human nature and society, and attitudes toward the future are identified and compared.
