Studies the history of photography in Europe and the U.S. through an exploration of the work of the great photographers, including Daguerre, Brady, Cameron, Steiglitz, Cartier-Bresson, Arbus, Penn, and Avedon. Emphasis is on understanding photography as a creative medium within the context of various modern art movements and the history of the period.
