Archaeology of the Middle East

A survey of ancient Mesopotamian, Anatolian, and Egyptian archaeology covering the rise of the first urban civilization in Sumer, Ur, and Babylon in southern Mesopotamia. The course also traces the rise of Egyptian civilization from the Old through the Middle and New kingdoms. An analysis of the Hittite kingdom of Anatolia and other civilizations is also provided.
