Sports Database Marketing and Distribution Channels

This course provides students with knowledge to develop and use of essential data in marketing decision-making. By incorporating horizontal and vertical distribution systems that are integrated with digital marketplaces, sports businesses can offer products and services to any customer. The role of the technology is explored in relationship to providing management support and to maintain customer profiles and then use this information in selected distribution channels. Students will gain an understanding of selection and segmentation-marketing techniques based on the demographics, psychographic characteristics, and predictive modeling for sports and leisure consumers. Topics include: website development and management; the array of distribution systems; database design; privacy issues; and eMarketing methods and their implications.
