This course presents an in-depth study of concepts of public and private sector financing to amateur, collegiate, and professional sporting events. Analysis of benefits, proposal development, and solicitation of sponsors will be the focus with special attention on alignment marketing, sponsor value, relationship building, and sponsorship evaluation. Topics include: cost-benefit analysis, the justification for investing public resources in private sporting events, the financial implementation of public-private partnerships, risk management, licensing rights, and the growth of corporate sponsorship for sporting events and venues.
