Graduate Student Affairs

A MESSAGE FROM THE ASSISTANT DEAN

Welcome to New York University! I am so pleased that you have made your decision to join us. I realize that this is a time of excitement, hopefulness for a better future, and following your passion to pursue your dream of a master’s degree. I am here to help you reach your goals. If you need help navigating NYU, please feel free to contact me.

One way that you can benefit is to get involved with the student life at SCPS and NYU. We have a graduate student council and eleven student clubs that provide programming, socials, and professional development that you will not want to miss. Just like you, NYU students have already accomplished so much. Your peers are a wonderful resource with whom to network; not just about school, but about work, living in the city, and balancing work/life issues.

In addition, we know that life happens and sometimes students need additional support. Please feel free to contact the Office of Graduate Student Life to find out about other resources at NYU, to access information on policies, or to just bounce an idea off someone who can refer you to the appropriate area.

Please stop by Room 428 at the NYU Midtown Center to visit or make an appointment. I look forward to meeting you and learning about your interests.

My warmest welcome,

Dr. Barbara Gossett
Assistant Dean
Office of Graduate Student Life
