  • How do I register for courses?
    All students receive a registration information package containing advisement, registration, drop/add, refund procedures and upcoming course offerings. These packages are mailed by the departments about three months before the semester begins. Degree students must register on ALBERT via NYU Home. Some courses may need an access code.
  • How do I activate my NYU NetID and NYU e-mail account?
    Go to http://start.nyu.edu and follow instructions.
  • How can I get registration “stops” removed?
    Bursar Stops: Call Bursar at 212-998-2800
    Dean’s Stop: Call Student Life 212-992-3208
    Health Stops: Call Immunization Records office at 212-443-1199 or visit their website  www.nyu.edu/nyuhc/vaccine
  • How do I notify NYU of a change of address?
    You need to notify both the University on Albert (www.albert.nyu.edu) and the department by notifying an advisor.
  • How can I be listed in the Student Directory?
    Log onto NYU HOME
    On the top tabs under NYU HOME, select NYU LIFE
    Scroll down until you see SCPS STUDENT LIFE
    On the far right, select the right arrow several times (pause after each time) and the section will move up the page.
    Click on STUDENT DIRECTORY
    Enter the data that you wish to share with other SCPS students. There are only three required fields for you to access the directory.
  • How do I register for classes at other NYU divisions?
    Speak with an advisor during advisement/registration to determine which courses would be appropriate.
  • How do I learn about/apply for scholarships?
    To be eligible for university scholarships, fellowships, or loans, you must submit a FAFSA form each academic year. Initial scholarships are provided at the time of admission. Some departments also offer merit scholarships for current students. Check with your advisor for the application process and deadlines.
  • How do I apply for Graduation?
    Call TorchTone (212-995-4777) and talk with your advisor when you are in your final semester.
  • How do I get a transcript?
    Unofficial transcripts are available on ALBERT.
    Call 212-998-4280 or go in person to 25 West 4th Street, Student Services for an official transcript.
  • What is the University Weather and Emergency Number?
    212-998-1220 or visit the University Website www.nyu.edu
  • How can I find out about internships/job opportunities/on-campus employment?
    Visit www.nyu.edu/careerdevelopment for internships available to all NYU students. For internships related directly to your area of study, please contact your department to see if there is a listserv to join or if positions are posted.
