Undergraduate Student Affairs

UNDERGRADUATE STUDENT COUNCIL

The management of student affairs is entrusted to the students themselves. All students registered in a degree program participate in the election of Student Council officers each April. Student Council Leaders work hard to improve student life at SCPS, by acting as an advocate for students to faculty and administration, by serving as an information resource to students, and by supporting student clubs.

SCPS has an undergraduate student government and a graduate student government that oversees all club activities, provides funding to the academic clubs, and advocates for student concerns to the NYU and SCPS administration.

The SCPS Student Council and its clubs hold monthly meetings and coordinate various events and activities throughout the academic year such as career seminars, graduate school information workshops, community service initiatives, and events that enhance networking opportunities and promote school spirit.

The Undergraduate Student Council represents all undergraduate students at SCPS. Its mission is to promote community for SCPS undergraduate students by bringing them together for social gatherings, community service projects, and other fun events, and to represent student issues and concerns and support activities for undergraduate clubs.

The Council holds meetings on the last Friday of each month, from 6-7:30 pm. All students are invited to attend.  You may contact the Council’s advisor, executive director, Anna Condoulis for additional information. Taking an active part in student government, both at SCPS and the University at large, allows you to become better connected to NYU’s culture of learning and achievement.

The best way to get involved with the Student Council is by volunteering on a committee. Joining a committee provides you with opportunities to network with other students, meet new people you might not otherwise encounter, have a voice in what happens around SCPS, and be a part of making the university experience better for every student at SCPS.
