McGhee is a unique learning space. Our faculty and staff work with you to help you make sound decisions and to provide the best education in a challenging environment.

CENTERED ON ADVISING
From your very first day at McGhee, you are assigned an advisor who orients you to NYU. With your advisor, you discuss your strengths, identify gaps in your learning, set goals, and map out your academic plan. You also learn registration requirements and plot your course schedules. As you progress through your degree requirements, you are assigned a faculty advisor to assist you with your chosen major or concentration.

TUTORING SERVICES FOR MCGHEE STUDENTS
For matriculated students, the McGhee Tutoring Service offers one-on-one tutoring at no charge in Accounting, Economics, Mathematics (Algebra, Pre-calculus, Statistics) and Writing at 726 Broadway, 6th Floor, and at the Midtown Center, 11 West 42nd Street, 10th Floor, Room 1014.

Appointments for McGhee students are available during weekdays and evenings and on Saturdays. McGhee students may make appointments in person at 726 Broadway, 6th Floor, or by telephone at (212) 992-9130.

PRIOR LEARNING ASSESSMENT
Prior learning credits are granted to students who can demonstrate that what they have learned outside the classroom is equivalent to specific college courses. If you plan to apply for prior learning credit, you must enroll in the Seminar in Experiential Learning. In this seminar, you learn how to develop a prior-learning portfolio, which is the basis for your request for prior learning credit. MCGHEE SATURDAY CENTER
The McGhee Saturday Center at Washington Square provides students with a place to meet others between classes. Student aides and program advisors are on hand to answer questions.
