GUIDELINES FOR LAB USAGE

In order to provide the best possible service for you in our computer labs, and to avoid possible confusion and problems, please be aware of the following guidelines.

ADMITTANCE:
In order to use the Computer Labs you must be enrolled in one of the following NYU/School of Continuing & Professional Studies programs during the current Semester:

  • Master’s Degree
  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree
  • Diploma
  • Advanced Professional Certificate
  • Any course taught in our Computer Labs

During Open-Lab time, you will be required to show your current NYU ID.  You will also be asked to fill out and sign the open lab sheet upon entering and exiting the lab.

*Note: No children or pets are allowed in the Computer Labs.

COMPUTER USAGE:

  • These computers are to be used for course-related work only.
  • It is your responsibility to be familiar with the software you would like to use.  However, Lab Aides will be available every lab session and during Open-Lab time, to assist you if you are having problems using the computers for course-related work.  A lab aide will be wearing a nametag so that he/she can be easily identified.
  • You are welcome to use the printers to make hard copies for course-related work only. You may generate a maximum of two copies of your work, while making copies of on-line manuals of any software is not permitted.

LAB USAGE AGREEMENT:

  • At the beginning of each course, you are required to fill out and sign the Lab Usage Agreement.

OPEN LAB HOURS:

Labs in 48 Cooper Square:
(Washington Square)
Monday - Thursday, 12 - 5 p.m. in Lab 209.
Friday, 10 a.m. - 9:30 p.m. in Room 210.
   
Labs in 11 W. 42nd Street:
(Midtown)

Lab schedules for Rooms 516 &1014:

  • Monday - Thursday, 9 a.m. - 9 p.m
  • Friday, 11 a.m.- 6:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, 11:30 a.m.- 3 p.m..

Lab schedules for Room 504 & 505 are posted monthly outside the lab doors.  These labs are available daily.

   
Labs in Woolworth Bldg:
(Downtown)
Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. in Lab 322 and Lab 335.

FOOD AND DRINK:

  • No food or beverages are allowed inside the computer labs.

SOFTWARE:

  • Reproduction of copyrighted software is strictly prohibited.
  • Installation of unauthorized software is strictly prohibited.
