THE ADMISSIONS EXAM
The Admissions Exam is a College Board test designed for adult students to assess a student’s academic ability and the brand name is Accuplacer.
There are two sections on the Admissions Exam:
The Admissions Exam is offered at the SCPS Testing Center at 145 Fourth Avenue. For more information on the testing schedule, call (212) 998-7100.
PLACEMENT EXAMS
All admitted students are required to take the writing and math placement exams.
The Math Placement Exam is offered at the SCPS Testing Center. The exam is computerized and adaptive, which means that the computer automatically determines which questions are presented to you based on your responses to prior questions. A Test Administrator is always present should you have any questions or problems. For more information on the testing schedule, call (212) 998-7100.
The Writing Placement Exam asks students to read a short passage and then to respond to the author's position. You are given 1 ½ hours to compose your response. The Writing Placement Exam is administered by the McGhee Writing Department.
