Undergraduate Admissions: International Students

APPLICATION CRITERIA AND COMPONENTS 


BACHELOR'S AND ASSOCIATE'S DEGREE APPLICATION COMPONENTS
  • Completed Application and personal statement
  • Check or money order (no cash) payable to NYU for $45. This is a non-refundable processing fee.
  • Official Transcript from high school indicating conferral of high school diploma, and mark sheets, or official G.E.D. score report.
  • Official Transcripts from all college(s) attended
  • Translation and evaluation of transcripts (international transcripts)
  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
  • Students applying to the A.A.S. in Diagnostic Medical Sonography are required to take the Writing and Math Placement Exams before admission.

INTERNATIONAL TRANSCRIPTS AND DIPLOMAS

In order to be considered for admission, all applicants are required to submit the following:
  • An official diploma (original document) conferring high school graduation
  • Official transcripts or mark sheets in the original language from the granting institution
  • An English translation of the diploma and mark sheets
  • A document assessing education equivalency to the U.S. Educational system
When requesting a translation or evaluation please request a course-by-course evaluation. All transcripts must be evaluated by World Education Services, or another recognized International Evaluation service recommended by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services.

BACHELOR'S AND ASSOCIATE'S DEGREE APPLICATION CRITERIA

The Admissions Committee reviews your academic potential in one of three ways:
  • SAT—You may submit SAT scores if you have never attended college.
  • College Credits—If you have attended college in the past five years and have accrued at least 15 credits you may submit college transcripts for review. If you have a 2.75 cum GPA for the last 15 credits you may be waived from the Admissions Test.
  • Admissions Exam—All other applicants will be required to take the Admissions Exam.
